Camp Forget-Me-Not would not be possible without the generous contribution of time and effort by dozens of volunteers each year. Camp Forget-Me-Not is grateful to those individuals who volunteer...some of our volunteers have served for many years...others have attended Camp Forget-Me-Not in the past. Volunteers are needed in the following areas:

  • Camp Buddies: serving as a one-on-one partner with individual campers
  • Camp Extras: to help with snacks and mealtimes, at the registration desk, and other administrative duties
  • Arts and Crafts: to help with the various arts and crafts projects and recreational activities.
  • Other duties such as making name badges, helping with mailings, etc.

Camp Forget-Me-Not volunteers are required to attend two training sessions, which will be held at Ele’s Place (1145 West Oakland, Lansing, MI) as follows:

Wednesday, May 26 at 5:30-8:00 pm
and
Wednesday, June 2 at 5:30-8:30 pm

Volunteers who have served previously at Camp Forget-Me-Not are only required to attend the second training session (June 2), but are invited to attend the first training session (May 26). A light supper will be served at both training sessions.

Volunteers must be at least 18 years old. Camp Forget-Me-Not is required to conduct a Criminal History Background Check on all volunteers. Volunteers are also required to submit two non-relative references and are required to have a TB vaccination. Click here for the TB Vaccination Form. A volunteer is anyone who has a desire to help someone in need. Special skills include:

  • ability to listen
  • capability to be open and non-judgmental

  • ability to be genuine and honest
  • capability of being diplomatic
